Our spicy story

Rimba du Monde began with two young Malaysian best friends from Johor, Bin and Avery.

After fifteen years spent between cinema, fashion, tech and the creative industries in France, Bin returned to the country that raised him with a question that had followed him for years:

Why was Malaysian agriculture still so absent from the global conversation?

France has wine. Japan has matcha. Italy has olive oil. Malaysia has some of the world’s finest pepper, yet few people know it.

That is why Rimba du Monde was born.

Founded during long drives across Borneo, through conversations with the Malaysia Pepper Board and sustainability initiatives backed by WWF-Malaysia, Bin and Avery became increasingly convinced that Malaysian ingredients deserved to be experienced with the same pride and cultural value as the world’s great culinary products.

A year later, Rimba du Monde was launched in France. A tribute to the two countries that shaped Bin’s life: Malaysia and France. Two worlds connected by craftsmanship, curiosity and a certain art of living.
